wrapped in layers of cosy | ootd

Hi lovelies! I’m just chiming in with a quick outfit post from the weekend. I hope you all had a wonderful couple of days, despite the erratic weather we’ve had here in the UK. It seems that half of the country had a few flakes of snow here and there, and the rest of us just had the classic rain and grey clouds. So overall, not a great time for being out and about. However, Dave and I did manage to squeeze in another little day trip on Saturday, and took some photos while we were out, making the most of the somewhat bearably sunny but very cold weather. On days when it’s freezing cold outside, all I want to do is stay wrapped in a blanket, drinking cocoa on the sofa all day. Since I can’t actually take my blanket outside, sadly, I resort to throwing on as many layers as possible to stay cosy and warm.

An alleyway beside a pretty church in the quaint town of Dorchester, with a cobbled high street full of cute cafes and many beautiful churches.

Coatigan: Zara TRF (similar)  |  Cardigan: Zara (similar)  |  Scarf: Dorothy Perkins (similar) |  Shorts: vintage Levi’s (similar)  |  Bag: Michael Kors (similar)  | Boots: Urban Outfitters (similar)  |  Hat: Asos (similar)

Hooray! Finally an outfit that doesn’t revolve around my padded coat! This pale grey coatigan is the perfect layering jacket over a cream knitted cardigan to stay warm and comfortable when out and about. A chunky scarf is the easiest and chicest way to add extra warmth to an outfit, and it’s especially perfect for windy days when I don’t want my hair flying all over my face; a simple hair tuck will solve any hair problems! I love how the colours are all neutral, my absolute favourite palette, with the Selma crossbody just adding a pop of brown to lift the outfit a little, and some sparkle from my new metallic boots. Not forgetting this delicate woolly hat, which has kept me toasty all throughout my festive break in Poland, and continues to be my favourite accessory this winter. An outfit of many layers to stay cosy and chic in this winter.

Your bobble hat is so cute! I can never find one that fits me because my head is a baby’s head >_< I love the layering knits too, hope it was cosy beneath all the layers… The weather was seriously confused last week, wasn't it? One day I was overheating from my jacket, and the next I was wrapping up so many layers and struggling with the umbrella!

Thank you! I literally have the same problem with my peasized head haha but this one is quite small luckily! It was very cosy indeed, thank you! It was awful and it’s so frustrating when trying to put an outfit together 🙈 Thank you for your lovely comment! xx

I was anxious to see where you guys went after reading your tweets and such but totally LOL at “and since I can’t take my blanket outside” that’s my same thought too when its bitter cold out! You look so fab all bundled up in your winter gear- Im so envious of girls who can rock head gear (hats, bows, ribbons, headbands, etc) you’re totally one of them with that cute little hat! It’s funny because in Boston there’s a city called Dorchester, totally not like your Dorchester, yours is way way better and nicer, over here its known to be not a great area lol

Ahahaha I’m glad I managed to stir up some mystery! 🙈 If only it was socially acceptable then our lives would be so much easier wouldn’t they! Aw thank youuuuu ☺️ This is honestly one of the only hats that actually suit me – it’s so hard to find the right style! Oh wow another place with the same name haha what a coincidence! Thank you for your lovely comment as usual! 💕 xx

You’re making me want to get a nose ring back ahahaa, although it used to get SOOOO cold in this weather and no joke my nose would get souper red in that area. I still think about getting it back in my life hahaa! Sorry you didn’t experience the snow 🙁 Also I adore your layers (despite the sad fact you couldn’t take a blanket xDD) and your boots!!

Ahahaha you should totally get it back! I can see it suiting you so well! Yupppp it’s not ideal for extreme weather conditions – if I ever go in a sauna or steam room it heats up so much and gets really painful haha. Thank youuuuuuu ☺️ it was the next closest thing I had to a blanket 🙈 xxx

I love this outfit! The bobble hat is so cute and you look so cosy in your knitwear! I have a grey cardigan similar and it is perfect for wrapping myself up in when working from home! Great dupes found online too – it just shows fashion bloggers don’t need to go out and buy the latest outfits all the time to create great content! xxx

Aw thank you! It’s just so nice to have something warm and knitted to feel all snuggly in isn’t it! Thank youuu ☺️ I’ve been trying to shop less these past few months as it was really getting out of hand haha! xxx

I love snuggly clothes! I secretly think winter is my fave season although I do love summer evenings and summer outings! I definitely understand about budgeting! I’m thinking of doing a wardrobe rummage soon to see what I have and forgotten about! xxx

I can never decide between the two! Ooooh that’s a good idea, there are always so many forgotten gems when you go through everything! I really, really admire people who have capsule wardrobes – it’s something I’ve been looking into for a while now but I think it would be so hard to start! xxx

Bobble hats, bobble hats, bobble hats. I have so much love for them – yours is absolutely adorable*. Perfect hygge inspiration! 🐰 (*I rue being unable to wear most hats – my hair is explosive, I’ve had to opt for ear muffs)

They’re so cosy aren’t they! I love just pulling it over my ears when it’s really frosty and windy! Oh nooo we literally have the opposite problem – my hair is too flat for war muffs! But they look so cute on others! xx

      • January 21, 2017 / 10:18 pm

We could do a swap on weekends? 😉 Haha, all hair is blessed in its own way. The muffs have revolutionised my existence though! Especially in loud places, it tones down anxiety. Xx
