travel wishlist for 2017

Hi lovelies! Now that we are all starting to settle into 2017, I thought: what better way to get through the January blues than dreaming of new places to visit this year! Last year was really great for travel: Dave took me to Iceland for my birthday, which was just incredible; I visited my family in Poland and spent a few days in beautiful Kraków; Mallorca had the most amazing beaches for Dave and I to chill out on; and just before Christmas, we also had a festive city break in Gdańsk, which I have probably bored you all to death with by now! Hopefully, 2017 will also be full of exploring places, new and old. So, here’s a list of my top destinations that I’m hoping to find myself this year.

♡ New York City

Somewhere that is probably on everyone’s travel wishlist, this city would be a dream to visit at any time of the year. Summer would be perfect for rooftop parties, a day trip to Coney Island and, of course, a beach day at the Hamptons. Equally, it would be incredible to walk through the festive streets in winter and go ice skating in Central Park!

A country with some of the most beautiful beaches in the world is obviously going to make it on to my travel list! Not only that, but this is where Dave’s family are from so it would be a really meaningful destination to visit. There are thousands of little islands to explore, some of which are untouched in their natural beauty.

♡ Antigua

There is nothing I would love more right now than to lie on a beach, surrounded by palm trees, sipping cocktails from a coconut. Beach holidays are definitely my favourite, and anywhere in the Caribbean would a perfect break for a week or two of relaxation and happy hours!

♡ Marrakech

I have a slight obsession with tiles, lights and ceramics, so Marrakech would be a dreamy place to visit, with all of its pretty colourful souks and Moorish architecture. Staying in a local riad with a little rooftop terrace and a dipping pool would be so wonderful, as would riding a camel through the desert outside the city.

♡ Tokyo

Another incredible city on the list, Tokyo would be the perfect place to let my cat-loving, fashion-obsessed side out! It seems like there really is no other city on the planet quite like it. I once heard about a businessman in a suit chasing a little red balloon down the street. That just sums up Tokyo perfectly for me.

What are your top travel places for the new year? I’d also love to hear about any holidays or mini breaks you have coming up! There’s nothing like visiting a new place and exploring what it has to offer, but it’s also lovely to return somewhere you’ve been to before and see how much, or how little, it has changed.

I definitely have the travel bug too this year! I want to explore so many places especially Iceland and Tokyo 🙂 I visited Antigua last year when I worked onboard a cruise ship and the beaches are absolutely stunning! Also, think I’m going to try and sneak in a trip to disneyland too! ✌️

Iceland was really incredible so I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone! Oh wow that must have been amazing 😍 Just looking at pictures of the beaches in Antigua makes me want to go so much. Disneyland would be a dreamy place to visit as well 💛 I always wanted to go there for my birthday, even as an adult ahaha. Thank you for your comment ☺️ xxx

This list of places to visit is so perfect! I love what a mis-match of places it is too! I’ve been to New York before and I’ve always wanted to go back as I just don’t feel I made the most of it when I was there! I’ve also always wanted to go to Tokyo but it’s just so far and expensive! x x x

Thank you! It is a bit of a random list ahahaha 😅 Oh wow you lucky thing! I guess New York is just one of those places that is so massive that no matter how long you spend there it will never be enough time to take in everything! It really is such a shame that all of these incredible places are so far from the UK! Thank you for your comment ☺️ xxx

Loved this, and I can totally agree with you on so many places here – Iceland and New York are a must! I went to Tokyo last year and it was incredible, however very humid. But the city is like a whole other world it’s so different from anywhere else! I love your blog so much and I’m hooked on reading it, keep it up lovely! xxx

Thank you! Oh wow that must have been an amazing experience but yessss I can imagine it being quite uncomfortable in the heat! Which month did you go in? It just seems like the kind of place you can let your inner child out and not have to apologise for it! Aww thank you so much that is so lovely to hear ☺️ xxx

I went in July, so probably one of the hottest and most humid times to go haha! But I did have my birthday out there which was amazing! It really is, everythings so quirky and like all you childhood dreams in one! xxx

Ohhhh that must have been the most amazing birthday! What a way to celebrate 💕 I’ve heard that March/April is a good time to go also because of the spring bloom! Eeeek this is making me want to go even more! xxx

I would honestly love nothing more! I’ve grown up watching American shows and seeing all of these incredible destinations and it would literally be so amazing to see them in real life 🙊 I would love to just tour all around the country like a few people I know have done but I think it requires like a year of working to save up for that 😅 xxx

Wow this is a great travel wish list! I’d love to go to New York and Australia one day! The flight is the only thing that puts me off haha! xxx

Hi Milenka! NYC is amazing, you would love it! I’ve been in Winter, it’s super cold but really snowy and magical. I’d love to visit Tokyo too, that’s definitely on my travel wishlist. I won’t make it there in 2017, but I will one day! Jessi xx

Now that is what I call a travel wish list, you have that spot on for sure 😍 Tokyo of course! But also Marrakech and the Philippines are a must see for me too – they look like wonderful places to visit. Iceland and Poland are also very high on my wishlist I think I have the travel bug!

Aw thank you! 🙈 There are just so many wonderful places to visit, I wish I had unlimited money just to travel! Iceland is incredible, not like any place I’ve been to before, and Poland is lovely and a nice alternative to the pricey places in the rest of Europe but with a similar vibe! I would definitely recommend. Thank you for your lovely comment ☺️ xx
