Having just returned from Mexico, I have been inspired by some of the beautiful decor found in Tulum: neutral woven rugs, intricately painted pottery and an abundance of palm trees. All of these chic, natural touches gave off the most cosy summer vibes, which got me thinking: is there such a thing as cosiness in the warmer months?
Of course! Cosiness doesn’t have to be limited to autumn and winter as, to me, it is more a state of being. Personally, the warm scent of a candle burning on a summer evening when it is still light outside is as equally hyggelig as a cup of cocoa by the fireplace in the middle of December.
On the topic of scent, my usual choices of perfume for a warm summer evening would include notes of coconut, shea and almond. However, after being sent a sample of the gourmande perfume by Clive Christian, I have been inspired by its blend of cocoa, cosmos flower and mandarin: a combination I would not have expected.
Yes, the perfume is a splurge, and at 50ml, it would have to be reserved for those super special occasions, but if we are happy to spend lots on bags, shoes and jewellery, then why not treat ourselves to a luxurious scent?
What scent reminds you of cosiness in summer?
