cosy summer vibes

Having just returned from Mexico, I have been inspired by some of the beautiful decor found in Tulum: neutral woven rugs, intricately painted pottery and an abundance of palm trees. All of these chic, natural touches gave off the most cosy summer vibes, which got me thinking: is there such a thing as cosiness in the warmer months?

Of course! Cosiness doesn’t have to be limited to autumn and winter as, to me, it is more a state of being. Personally, the warm scent of a candle burning on a summer evening when it is still light outside is as equally hyggelig as a cup of cocoa by the fireplace in the middle of December.

On the topic of scent, my usual choices of perfume for a warm summer evening would include notes of coconut, shea and almond. However, after being sent a sample of the gourmande perfume by Clive Christian, I have been inspired by its blend of cocoa, cosmos flower and mandarin: a combination I would not have expected.

Yes, the perfume is a splurge, and at 50ml, it would have to be reserved for those super special occasions, but if we are happy to spend lots on bags, shoes and jewellery, then why not treat ourselves to a luxurious scent?

What scent reminds you of cosiness in summer?

This was such a good food for thought, I never really though about summer as “cozy” either but just as you described the decor found in Tulum, I instantly envisioned a cozy summer. Palm trees 100% give me all the relaxing, peaceful, cozy vibes too. I just envision myself laying in a hammock under a palm tree ha

I can’t agree more about candles on summer evenings. Not particularly fancy, but citronella candles always remind me of summer and holidays in France sitting out at night. So cosy!

It’s just so peaceful and I suppose because we don’t have unbearably hot summers, the extra heat doesn’t matter haha! Citronella sounds lovely and refreshing! And that sounds absolutely perfect <3

I totally agree about being cosy all year round! It is so important to feel relaxed and at peace at home and things like scents can add to the “me time” experience. I also think you can snuggle indoors with a hot chocolate all year around… except when the temperatures are about 25 degrees! xxx
