Hi lovelies. I’ve been feeling a little blue lately so I wanted to put together a recipe for the perfect cosy day in to cheer up anyone who might be feeling a similar way. I think it must be seasonal as we’re getting fewer daylight hours the further we get into winter and when it’s dark and cold, it’s difficult to feel motivated. I don’t know how the people in Scandinavia cope! I guess hygge has a lot to do with it, so I’m making sure to embrace all of these things as much as possible.
♡ A splash of a hot drink
Coffee, earl grey tea, elderflower cordial… anything warm and fragrant that you can wrap your hands around in a pretty mug.
♡ Add a dash of warm lighting
Candles, fairylights, a soft glow from a bedside lamp… anything that creates a cosy atmosphere.
♡ A few episodes of a cosy show
Watching Gilmore Girls is like being embraced in a big hug. Any show that has a cosy setting or a heartwarming story will do!
♡ Sprinkle some sweet treats
There’s nothing like the feel and taste of chocolate melting in your mouth in between sips of coffee. Dark chocolate can also raise serotonin levels.
♡ Wrap up in a fluffy blanket
I can’t relax at home unless I have a blanket around me! My favourite one looks and feels like a polar bear.
♡ Switch off your phone
I’m constantly glued to mine so switching it off once in a while brings some peace to my hectic mind.
